Ruby's rescue

  

When Anne Marie got home with the groceries, she didn't realize Ruby had escaped-- until the next morning when she returned from the gym.

 

She searched all over her apartment, then the complex and streets. The next day, she called me to come do my "pet detective thing."

 

The big breakthrough came when I was searching her garage and examined her SUV. That's when I spotted the clue that changed everything: a few orange hairs caught on the skid plate, right in the center of the front axle.

 

This led to the deduction that Ruby had not gotten out of the garage and escaped into the grounds after all: she had taken a ride.

 

Ann Marie had accidentally taken Ruby to the gym. So how did we find her?
